Apprehended Domestic Violence Orders
Once Police take out an ADVO it is rare for them to withdraw the application.

APVOs are private applications. Anybody can apply to the Court for an APVO if they are in fear of another person.
Making Applications For APVOs
If you are taking out an Application and the other person has a Lawyer you may be liable to pay the other persons Lawyers fees. We can talk you through the process, and assist and advise you.
Sometimes there are other options.
Defending APVOs
Many APVOs are applied for without valid reason. Ex partners, neighbors or work colleagues may make applications for APVO's. Often the fears they state in the application are not real or exaggerated.
The making of a Final Order against you may affect your job or your relationship with family members.
Final Orders are a 'Decision' of the Local Court. There is a right to Appeal a Decision of the Local Court if you believe the Decision is wrong.
